The REID AQUILA is our mid level bike. It has been designed very similar to our top of the range REID OSPREY, the difference being the gearing. The AQUILA is a road bicycle that is perfect for social and competition cycling, tri-athletes, commuters, those looking to get fit and of course the budget savvy. cyclist.
Bikes with similar components in retail stores would sell for at least $750. It features a lightweight alloy frame and forks with double wall alloy 700c wheels. The gearing system uses SHIMANO A050 GEARING and an upgraded SHIMANO 2300 front derailleur. The A050 gearing is fantastic as it uses handlebar mounted thumb shifters which are simple to use. Shimano is highly regarded as the world's best when it comes to quality bicycle gearing. It is also fitted with lightweight alloy components such as cranks, brakes, seat post, stem and handlebars. Weighing only 10.6kgs it is more than capable of reaching great speeds socially or in competition. It comes in 3 sizes (small, medium and large). The frame sizes are 51cm, 54cm and 57cm. We offer a 15 year warranty on frame+forks, 12 months warranty on parts and FREE brake and gear service for 12 months to give you that peace of mind. The bike also comes with a free pump and drink bottle and holder for added value.
