Australia’s best value Shimano Deore 1x12 speed Mountain Bike. The Tract 4 features key upgrades including a 130mm suspension fork and thru-axles to deliver serious singletrack and trail riding package for riders looking to experience Mountain Biking and step up their skills.

"We have tested a number of their bikes over the years, and always been impressed with the ride quality and features that Reid can put together at the price the bikes hit the floor at." Read the full Tract 4 review from AMB.

The Tract 4 features an upgraded drivetrain with highly desirable Shimano Deore SL-M6100 12-speed (1x) gearing. Riding with one cog and no front derailleur is the preferred setup for Mountain Biking. 12 gears at the back give you plenty of smooth-shifting range, but the simplicity upfront means reduced weight, more clearance over rocks and logs, and one less lever to think about when pushing yourself.

Designed for riders who are looking for a quality entry to the world of Mountain Biking on proper trails, singletrack, and XC; the Tract range brings the most up-to-date standards in MTB geometry and specification at this price point.

The lightweight SR Suntour XCM34 Boost 130mm travel suspension fork gives smooth control over broken ground and even more cushioning to soak up bigger hits as you take on more serious trails. The hydraulic lock-out feature will be appreciated by riders looking to maximize efficiency on big climbs or long hauls over flat ground.

29-inch wheels are the modern standard for Mountain Biking and getting on a 29er has never been as accessible as the Tract. 29 x 2.25” Compass MTB tyres coupled with durable double-wall alloy rims will hold the ground for a fast and responsive ride.

The other big advance on Tract 4 is the use of thru-axles. This improves rigidity between wheel and frame and ensures your wheels are always perfectly aligned and securely seated.

Well balanced and dialled for all-around riding - this bike climbs, descends, and covers cross-country distance with ease. With internal gear and brake cabling and rigged with mounts for a drink bottle, rear rack, and kickstand; you can set this bike up to perform many duties. The Tract 4 also features routing in case you want to upgrade to a dropper post.

Braking power and control are delivered by the reliable and smooth Tektro Hydraulic Disc with 160mm rotors. Hydraulics offers more power with less lever force required than other systems, which gives better modulation and control in all riding conditions.

The Reid Tract range is the best value way to get into Mountain Biking on a progressive, trail-ready 29er MTB that is built to take the demands of the sport. The Tract is a real-deal MTB built from the ground up for singletrack, jumps, rocks, technical climbs, and fast descents.

Key Features:

  • Tough and light double-butted 6061 hydroformed aluminium alloy frame with internal cabling, routing for a dropper post upgrade, and a tapered headtube for increased stiffness (increased cornering precision and better feedback from the trail).
  • Modern trail/cross-country (XC) progressive geometry with slacker angles and low standover for confidence-inspiring off-road performance.
  • SR Suntour XCM34 130mm travel suspension fork for bigger hits and better control on serious trails. Features hydraulic lock-out for efficiency on the climbs.
  • Tektro Hydraulic Disc brakes with 160mm rotors for stopping power and modulation control in the dirt and in the wet.
  • Trail performance with desirable Shimano Deore 1 x 12 gearing. The ideal setup for lightweight simplicity and clearance over obstacles like rocks and logs.

Buy One, Plant One

Since January 2020 we have partnered with Eden Reforestation Projects to donate enough money to pay a local person a fair wage to grow, plant and guard to maturity 1 native tree for every bike we sell.

We've now planted more than 200,000 trees and counting.
