If you're getting into commuting, road riding, fitness training or just looking for a reliable, fun way to get around, you should take a very close look at the Rapid Road Bike.
The Rapid isn't your normal price point road bike. Bikes at this price point often feature an odd assortment of cheap, no-name components, but not the Rapid. We carefully chose a package of bike parts from the biggest bike brand names that give the best reliability and performance, while still keeping the price ultra affordable.
The Rapid road bike features a alloy frame that is light and stiff, while the steel fork gives vertical compliance for improved comfort, feel and durability. The frame geometry and shape of the road bike puts you in a commanding, upright position for visibility of the road ahead and the traffic around you.
Promax Dual-Pivot Caliper Brakes offer great stopping ability. Dual-pivot means that instead of old-fashioned brake callipers that lever off the central bolt, the brakes lever off two separate pivot points, increasing the braking power, feel and control.
The features road bike wheels are double-walled aluminium alloy, so they're light and strong. We've chosen Kenda road race tyres in a standard 23c size. This means that they're durable and fast-rolling, with plenty of grip and control.
The Reid Cycles Rapid is definitely the best value road bike in Australia under $300.
Our range of quality road bikes also come with the industry leading Reid Lifetime frame warranty, 2 years warranty on parts and 12 months of free servicing to guarantee you get a great deal.
Key Features
For online home delivery orders, bikes are shipped in a box 85% assembled and require some final assembly. For more information please see our shipping and returns page. Bikes purchased in-store are fully assembled and ready to ride.

Shipping
A flat rate of $19.99 shipping per bike is currently available to most Australian mainland (including Tasmania). For orders placed only containing parts and accessories, the delivery cost will be $9.99. For postcodes ineligible for the $19.99 flat rate, Reid Cycles offers subsidised rates to help make shipping more affordable to remote and harder to access areas. Click here for more information on subsidised rates and transit times.
Pre-Order
How do we know a bike is available for pre-order?
It's easy! Instead of seeing an 'Add to Cart' button on the product page, the button will read as 'Pre-Order'. It will also have text below the button with the estimated day of arrival at our Melbourne warehouse.
Is the estimated warehouse arrival date accurate?
After considering off all shipment processes and facts, we arrive at an estimated date. However, on occasion there may be factors outside of our control, which can cause subsequent delays - in which case, we will notify you accordingly.
What happens once my bike arrives at the warehouse?
Once it arrives, our warehouse team prepare your order and get this ready to send off with our delivery partners. This process generally takes 1-3 working days. Please allow 7-10 days to receive your order.
Pick Up In-Store
Collection from one of our stores is always free! When collected in-store, your bike comes fully assembled by an experienced Reid Cycles mechanic, adjusted, and ready to go. Once your bike is ready for collection, our store team will be in contact with you. Please allow 7-10 working days after purchase to receive communication that your bike is ready to be picked up. For more information, please click here.
Bike Assembly
Remember that bikes are shipped boxed, and 85% are assembled. The final assembly required includes the installation of the handlebars, front wheel, pedals, and saddle, adjusting the brakes, and tuning the gears. We recommend that the assembly is done by a qualified bike mechanic or another suitably qualified person. Damage caused by an incorrect assembly (such as installing the pedals the wrong way around) is not covered by your warranty. Please see our 'How to guides ' for assembly instructions if you do choose to assemble a bike yourself.

Bike Servicing
When should I get my bike serviced?
As a general rule of thumb, Reid recommends you get your new bike serviced after 6 weeks of riding for adjustments as parts bed in. Following this, it makes sense to at least get a service Pre-Summer and Pre-Winter.
How do I receive my two free services?
Reid Cycles offers all of our new bike customers two free workshop services within the first 12 months of ownership. These free services are for the original owner of the bike only. Redeem these services at your local Reid Store.
What is included in my free services?
Brake adjustment, Gear adjustment (front and rear), Lubricate chain, Tyres inflated to recommended PSI, Brake pad adjustment, Check and tighten bolts, Headset check and adjust, & Suggested maintenance report.
Which Reid stores offer workshop servicing?
All of our stores have a workshop to help with all your bike needs. Just make sure you contact the store in advance to book in.
