Reid Skate Helmet Kids Blue

Our classic skate-style bike helmet is a simple, comfortable and good-looking helmet that will provide the protection your child needs in a range of great colours.

A classic skate-style bike helmet designed to fit kids with head circumference 50-54cm (generally aged 4-7 years). Features Dial-fit for extra comfort and security. This is a cool and comfortable helmet that kids will love to use.

Unlike most skate helmets, our new and improved classic helmet has a dial-fit adjustment. The small dial at the rear of the helmet allows precise adjustment of the headband within the helmet to provide a perfectly comfortable fit.

Like all Reid helmets, our Classic Helmet meets or exceeds Australian Standard 2063:2008, which is the toughest certification for bicycle helmets in the world, so you know that it'll protect your child when needed.

  • A super tough design with a durable ABS plastic shell
  • 11 vents to keep your head cool
  • Adjustable straps, 3 pad sizes and dial-fit for a secure and comfortable fit
  • Can be used for a variety of sports such as cycling, skating and riding scooters
  • Available in great range of colours, please see drop down for the colours currently available

Choosing the right helmet for your child:

  • The most important consideration when choosing a helmet for your child is the fit.
  • Any helmet sold in Australia should meet very stringent safety standards (it will say it on the product - Australian Standard 2063:2008) and therefore provide good protection for your child.
  • The best way to choose a kid's bike helmet is by trying it on or measuring the child's head circumference by wrapping a measuring tape around the head at the height of the top of the ears. Choosing a kid's helmet solely by the age guide is not accurate as there is a lot of variation with head sizes in young kids.

Every Reid Cycles helmet incorporates the Dial-fit System so you can adjust the size to more closely suit the head tighten for smaller heads in the range, widen for larger heads or as the child grows. This makes the helmet more comfortable to wear, but more importantly, gives a snug fit for added safety.

As a general guide:

  • Age range 18 months - 4 years
  • Head size 44 - 50 cm
  • These helmets are very light as toddlers cannot take a lot of weight on their necks. It is not advisable to use a heavier ABS shell style helmet for very young children.

  • Age range 4 - 7 years
  • Head size 50 - 54 cm
  • Kids at this age are getting stronger and taking more risks, therefore the helmets are built tougher

  • Age range: 7 years and up
  • Head size: 54cm
  • Kids with heads larger than 54cm are now wearing adult size helmets (most kids over 7 years of age). Our sizing in these helmets is Medium (54-58cm) or Large (58-62cm).

Assembly:

Remember that bikes are shipped boxed, and 85% assembled. The final assembly required includes the installation of the handlebars, front wheel, pedals and saddle, adjusting the brakes and tuning the gears. We recommend that the assembly is done by a qualified bike mechanic or another suitably qualified person. Damage caused by an incorrect assembly (such as installing the pedals the wrong way around) is not covered by your warranty.

Please see our 'How to guides' for assembly instructions if you do choose to assemble a bike yourself.

Delivery method:

It's always best to send to an address that always has someone in attendance, such as a business address. You may also want to give our courier an 'authority to leave' instruction. Only give us an 'authority to leave' if you're confident that the delivery will be safe. Otherwise, the courier can leave a 'sorry we missed you' card, allowing you to arrange re-delivery.
