With Shimano 105 components and Hydraulic Disc brakes, the Granite 4.0 is a serious bike on the road and in the dirt.
Simply put, Gravel-grinders (All-Road, Adventure Road or Dirt-Road-Racers) are like a Cyclocross (CX) bike built for Endurance and all-terrain riding. The features that make these bikes perfect for dirty distance racing across varied terrain also make them perfect for commuting in all conditions.
\nAlthough the Granite 4.0 is a stand out in the range for premium componentry that delivers an exceptional ride, this gravel bike is made for grinding - day-in and day-out.
\nThe lightweight alloy bike frame with endurance geometry again features extras like front and rear rack mounts so you can set this bike up for commuting, touring or off-road racing. The custom carbon fork not only reduces weight, it provides flex when cornering and effectively soaks up small bumps and road buzz for a more comfortable ride.
\nThe Granite 4.0 jumps up to the highly desirable and time-tested Shimano 105, 2 x 11 speed derailleurs and levers. This high-performance option delivers flawless performance with a premium finish.
\nStopping duties are assumed by the latest Shimano 105 Hydraulic Disc brakes. Hydraulics offer more power with less lever force required than other systems, which gives better modulation and control in all riding conditions.
\nThe Granite 4.0 gravel bike features thru-axles which improves rigidity between wheel and frame, and ensures your wheels are always perfectly aligned and securely seated. Fitted with upgraded WTB STP i19 alloy rims and an FSA Gossamer Pro crankset - this is a serious bike no matter which path you take.
\nOur range of Gravel Bikes all come with the industry leading Lifetime Frame Warranty, 2 years on parts and Two Free Services within 12 months of purchase at any Reid store. Visit our stores to try the bikes or shop online for our 30 Day Test Ride to guarantee you get a great deal.

WHAT IS A GRAVEL GRINDER?
\nThink of it as similar to a CX bike built for Endurance riding that is also perfect for all-conditions commuting over distance.
\nTYRES
\nGravel bikes typically run a 32-35mm wide tyre (as opposed to your standard Road bike at 23-25mm). Depending on the intended purpose of the bike, these tyres can often feature a small tread for traction in the dirt. These larger tyres help protect the rim against damage, reduces punctures, improves comfort in the saddle and they’ll also leave you less fatigued after riding along bumpy surfaces all day.
\nGEARING
\nGravel creates more rolling resistance so these bikes get a little more emphasis at the lower end of the range. Durability of moving parts is also key for Gravel bikes given the rough conditions they are made to ride in - our gearing choices reflect this consideration.
\nFRAME
\nBoth Gravel and CX bikes have strong frames and forks that are built tough for harsh treatment. The bikes feature clearance for the bigger tyres and any mud, and plenty of front/rear rack mounts for bikepacking, touring and fully loaded commuting.
\nAlthough similar to Cyclocross bikes, Gravel-grinders feature more relaxed geometry with a slacker head tube angle, a lower centre of gravity and longer tube lengths for a more comfortable ride over longer distances. Cyclocross bikes are designed to accelerate fast and corner quickly at lower speeds, but this can feel a bit ‘twitchy’ on endurance rides along wide-open gravel roads or long regular commutes.
BRAKES
\nMost quality gravel bikes feature disc brakes as they perform better in all conditions. If you’ve ever ridden to work in the wet, you’ll understand how this reliable power and control translates to a safer commute.

Shipping
We offer a base shipping rate from $39.99 per bike to most of Australia. Orders containing kids bikes 20" and under will receive a discounted delivery rate at checkout. For orders containing only parts and accessories, we offer a flat rate of $9.99. Click here for more information regarding shipping.
Pre-Order
How do we know a bike is available for pre-order?
It's easy! Instead of seeing an 'Add to Cart' button on the product page, the button will read as 'Pre-Order'. It will also have text below the button with the estimated day of arrival at our Melbourne warehouse.
Is the estimated warehouse arrival date accurate?
After considering off all shipment processes and facts, we arrive at an estimated date. However, on occasion there may be factors outside of our control, which can cause subsequent delays - in which case, we will notify you accordingly.
What happens once my bike arrives at the warehouse?
Once it arrives, our warehouse team prepare your order and get this ready to send off with our delivery partners. This process generally takes 1-3 working days. Please allow 7-10 days to receive your order.
Click & Collect
Collection from one of our stores is always free! When collected in-store, your bike comes fully assembled by an experienced Reid Cycles mechanic, adjusted, and ready to go. Once your bike is ready for collection, our store team will be in contact with you. Please allow 5-10 working days (allow extra time for Perth store) after purchase to receive communication that your bike is ready to be picked up. For more information, please click here.
Bike Assembly
Remember that bikes are shipped boxed, and 85% are assembled. The final assembly required includes the installation of the handlebars, front wheel, pedals, and saddle, adjusting the brakes, and tuning the gears. We recommend that the assembly is done by a qualified bike mechanic or another suitably qualified person. Damage caused by an incorrect assembly (such as installing the pedals the wrong way around) is not covered by your warranty. Please see our 'How to guides ' for assembly instructions if you do choose to assemble a bike yourself.

Bike Servicing
When should I get my bike serviced?
As a general rule of thumb, Reid recommends you get your new bike serviced after 6 weeks of riding for adjustments as parts bed in. Following this, it makes sense to at least get a service Pre-Summer and Pre-Winter.
How do I receive my two free services?
Reid Cycles offers all of our new bike customers two free workshop services within the first 12 months of ownership. These free services are for the original owner of the bike only. Redeem these services at your local Reid Store.
What is included in my free services?
Brake adjustment, Gear adjustment (front and rear), Lubricate chain, Tyres inflated to recommended PSI, Brake pad adjustment, Check and tighten bolts, Headset check and adjust, & Suggested maintenance report.
Which Reid stores offer workshop servicing?
All of our stores have a workshop to help with all your bike needs. Just make sure you contact the store in advance to book in.
