All the classic fixie styling but with discrete 3-Speed Shimano Nexus internal hub gears to eat up the distance. The simplicity and low-maintenance you love about singlespeeds, but now with enough gears to ride every day.

For city-dwellers and urbanites, getting around is now even easier on the Harrier 3.0. This bike gives you the styling, simplicity and low-maintenance you love about singlespeeds/fixies - but with 3 internal gears in the rear hub.

The 3-Speed Shimano Nexus internal gears are located discretely in the rear hub. This gives you enough range to tackle hills and headwinds, while maintaining the style and handling of a simple fixie/singlespeed bike. You can even shift internal gears without pedalling - just twist the shifter while waiting at the lights and ride off.

The Harrier 3.0 is built on a Custom Steel Frame for strength and road vibration damping qualities. Although optimised for handling characteristics in tight city riding, the Harrier 3.0 features a comfortable and balanced all-round geometry so you can move fast but still have good visibility of the road ahead.

Upgraded Tektro Dual Pivot Caliper Brakes offer improved stopping power and modulation control. Dual-pivot means that instead of old-fashioned brake callipers that lever off the central bolt, the brakes lever off two separate pivot points, increasing the braking power, feel and control.

This fixie style bike also comes with Semi-Deep V alloy rims with machined sidewalls so they're light and strong. We've chosen CST CZAR 25c Tyres which are durable and fast-rolling, with plenty of grip and control.

A Shimano Nexus internal hub gear bike is the ideal choice if you’re after low-maintenance and durability. With no derailleurs to worry about, there is very little to look after and nothing to get knocked around when you park up in the bike rack in the city, at uni, work or the pub.

Key Features:

  • Custom steel frame with agile geometry and a balanced riding position for control and visibility in traffic and city riding.
  • Shimano Nexus 3-Speed Internal Hub Gears.
  • Improved Tektro Dual-Pivot alloy caliper brakes.
  • Lightweight alloy rims with machined sidewalls, fitted with fast rolling 700 x 25c CST CZAR tyres.
  • Fitted with track saddle and Velo grips.

    Good bike at great price

Lightweight bike, that is easy to ride and manoeuvre through traffic. It is much better than I thought it would be considering the price. Internal hub gears work well.

    Very fast delivery.

    Clear assembly instructions online.

    Overall a good experience..

For the price, I don't think you could do much better. I bought mine during lockdowns in 2020, used it casually, but have finally gotten back on in the last few months, commuting 14km per day (All up I've probably done ~3000 km since new).

The real star of the show is the Shimano Nexus Hub - these things are absolutely bomb proof and so fuss-free. The three gears is *just* enough for my Inner Sydney riding, but I wouldn't want to tackle any crazy hills. Hey Reid: give us a model with the Nexus 7 or 8 speed!

A Giant or Trek this is definitely not, but it is a solid, reliable bike that gets you from A to B for under $500, and it looks pretty cool too. I know people can get snobby about Reid but I actually really like this bike. It's got a low/no maintenance, idiot-proof internal gear hub and enough points to mount a rack on the back - for me it's the perfect budget commuter until I have the money to buy/build something a bit more hardcore.

Two suggestions - upgrade straight away to some more rugged 28C tyres (I found the 25C Czars it came with WAY too slippery in the wet and very prone to pinch flats - I used Schwable Marathon Plus instead); and if you've got a bony bum you may want to look at a different saddle.
