Our flagship fast-commuter features a Shimano Deore drivetrain with hydraulic discs for a crisp and refined ride.

The Urban X3 has been specified with trusted Shimano components throughout the drivetrain, controls and braking to deliver a fast and lightweight bike with performance handling characteristics.

True to the versatile nature of the Urban range; the X3 is the one bike you need for fast commutes, fitness rides or weekend explorations.

The X3 is built on a new lightweight hydroformed 6061 alloy frame with internal cabling; and features all the mounts you need to rig your ride with fenders, mudguards and pannier racks for luggage.

Featuring Shimano Deore derailleurs and chainset with integrated brake and gear levers; the 3 x 10 speed drivetrain shifts like clockwork and offers plenty of range.

The Urban X3 sees the introduction of Shimano hydraulic disc brakes for improved control. Hydraulics offer more power with less lever force required than other systems, which gives better modulation and more braking power - even when conditions are wet.

Puncture resistant Continental tyres fitted to Alex MD-19 double wall alloy rims will withstand years of hard city riding on our less-than-perfect streets and paths.

Key Features:

  • Lightweight hydroformed alloy frame with internal cable routing and headset.
  • Fast Commuter bike geometry for confident urban handling.
  • Shimano M395 hydraulic disc brakes for reliable stopping power and fine control in all weather.
  • Quality shifting with Shimano Deore T6000 30-speed gearing.
  • Performance wheelset with Alex MD19 double wall alloy rims with stainless spokes.
  • Puncture resistant Continental Speed Contact 700 x 35c tyres.

    Solid Urban Bike

"I'm thoroughly impressed with this product, particularly its Shimano Deore drivetrain, hydraulic brake, and internal cabling. Regrettably, the service fell short; the store missed the pickup date, and the brake calipers were improperly assembled, causing disc rubbing.

    Second Reid, first Urban X3

It's hard to give an accurate appraisal because I haven't ridden far yet, but so far it seems very impressive quality and value as well as comfortable to ride for commuting. My previous bike was a Reid Falco Elite that I am only replacing because the crank bearings are starting to fail after, conservatively, 25,000-30,000km (other components replaced as they wore out; I ride often. The Urban is obviously a different style, but if it survives half as long, I should be happy. In terms of hardware specifications for value, you'd be hard pressed to beat this bike. Hope it continues this way.
