Excellent bike, value, customer support. Quick & Fun on the pedals! Review by Don
Excellent bike and I have been happy riding it 20km a day, Summer Hill to Syd airport. I bought my cx from the Reid store in Newtown. I had an issue with rear wheel set, spokes would loosen off and snap, I had to return bike for service and replacement of rear spokes. (I got X2 free services with purchase). Second time a few more spokes broke and loosened up, I had messaged online support and they acknowledged it was an issue. I didn't ride for a month due to unrelated foot injury (stitches), then i noticed the spokes. It took a month but they ordered me a wider rear rim and all new spokes. I dropped the bike off and within a few days picked it up. Great Newtown team, manager is a top bloke. I Havnt had any other issues with bike, other than the chain not going down into some gears but it just is one of those things. Very fun bike to ride and picks up speed quickly in traffic ! And it turns heads (Posted on 11/01/2019)
Great fun! Review by Amanda
I bought the Reid CX as a commuter and wanted the capability to take some firetrails en route.

I picked the Reid CX as I didn't want to invest too much money in a commuter bike and having bought a Reid X-Trail in the past, was comfortable I'd get a decent bike for my money.

I loved it from first ride. It's agile, responds quickly and can go anywhere. This thing rides uphill while offroad and it's quite confidence inspiring downhill, too.

My fave type of riding is actually downhill mountain biking so I can't resist putting this bike through its paces too - meaning I like to fly down some gnarly, rocky firetrails and jump gutters etc. I've even just taken a QOM on a very nice firetrail descent. I'm stoked.

For the most part, the Reid CX has taken all I've thrown at it.

The wheels won't stay true, but I am rough on them. For use as intended (CX, moderate firetrails, bike paths, road), I'm sure they'd be fine.

Because I'm having so much fun on my CX, I've upgraded the tyres to 41mm Surly Knard on the front and 40mm Maxxis Rambler on the rear. These roll faster and have excellent grip for offroad use. My LBS is setting me up with some stronger second hand rims and I'll also swap out the Claris drivetrain - which was perfectly fine - for a SRAM Apex 1 drivetrain (1x system) to suit my preferences.

I'm now planning some epic bike-packing adventures.

The Reid CX is taking its place as a fave bike in my stable.

Great value for money Review by Yogger
Purchased early December in Adelaide, cycled 350 km, climbed 2500 m with it. It's true allrounder- commuter when needed (you can mount mudguards), training bike on other occasions. It flies up to Norton Summit or mount Lofty and you can also go bit offroad with Conti cyclocross tires. Claris works smoothly, and offers resonable gearing and quality (shimano borrwed a lot from higer end groups). Avid disc breaks are great value and offer pretty decent stopping power (better then similar rim breaks) regardless of conditions. Frame is sturdy due to double butted alloy but bit heavy which impacts acceleration- I had slower start from traffic lights compared to guys with 2 times more expensive carbon bikes but I was always able to catch them later. Geometry is cx- which means that bike is agile and fast responding. Only issues I had do far would be with comfort of saddle and handel bars- saddle and bartape could be softer and handlebar drops are too long for me but all mentioned are subjective and can be easily and cheaply changed. Does the job! Review by A
I wasn't able to decide between the CX and the urban X2 bicycle.
The staff were very accommodating. I purchased the X2 initially and had it for about 1 week. I decided that the CX bike was more for me in the end (Nothing wrong with the X2 but personally i'm more comfortable with drop bars).

I returned the bike and and had no issues with the exchange. (Keep in mind the X2 was still in perfect condition when i returned it). The staff were very patient with the whole process and never made me feel bad for not being able to make up my mind.

For a budget bicycle, I was surprised how comfortable the ride of the CX was, even going over bad terrain (Gravel, Grass, sand, mud etc). The groupset is a lower end compared to other bikes i own but switching gears was very smooth and more than enough for my commuting needs.

I also plan on doing shorter rides with my family, with the little on a baby seat. Tested the bike out with the front baby seat (Yepp Mini) and is surprisingly well balanced to ride (Considering that this bike is a drop bar). The frame feels very sturdy and even with the added weight doesn't compromise the ride. The disc brakes work great, even whilst riding in the rain.

Rode just over 1000kms since getting the bike a month ago and Overall the bike does the job and works great!

Thanks Reid Cycles!

Great Buy Review by Webby
Very Happy with purchase of bike. Staff were courteous and very helpful when ordering and picking it up. They ensured I got a test ride to pick the correct size frame. Can't fault them in-store. My only quip is that the phone line asks you to leave a message but doesn't allow for messages to be left. (Posted on 6/10/2016)
