The family at Reid Cycles is proud to announce the opening of our new store in Perth on the 15th August.
To celebrate our opening, we are giving our customers 10% off all items in the Perth store until August 31st 2018.
Our previous store in Perth which closed one year ago was in Erindale Rd, Balcatta and our new store is only 3 doors away at shop 4, 7 Erindale Rd, Balcatta.
There are lots of questions people are asking, why did REID close? Why are they opening again? What has been happening in the last year? Is there going to be a difference?
At Reid, we started in 2009 and our direct to business model was and still is incredibly popular. As we grew we made the decision to open bigger and bigger stores and carry more and more “non-Reid” branded product. The result of this was very expensive rent/overheads and a very complex business. We learned that our passion and skills lies with the ‘REID’ brand and our ability to sell directly to the consumer as opposed to being a general retailer.
So as the leases on our large format stores came to expiry, we closed the stores while we assessed our strategy. We found most of our customers simply want a location to come and test ride our bikes before purchasing and to have the peace of mind that they have a skilled team to help them with servicing and warranties if anything goes wrong.
Since this decision was made, we have moved our stores from an average of 700sq/m to an average of 250sq/m with new showrooms in Sydney and Adelaide and the results have been fantastic so we are very happy to be returning to Perth!
As we are a brand that sells direct to the public, our ability to sell top quality bikes at amazing prices is the best in Australia. Having smaller stores with lower overheads means we can pass bigger savings onto our customers and this is much more in line with our company values.
Our customers in Perth have always been very loyal and we have been searching for the right property for some months now and we are very happy to be back in Balcatta to serve the WA market.
As our aim is to provide Australia’s best value bikes so that more Australian’s can experience the joys of cycling, 2018/19 is shaping up to be a great year with strong demand for Reid bikes online and instore.
Australia is not the only place Reid is growing. Reid bikes are now available in 18 countries around the world. With the new store in Perth and the incredible international growth we are very happy that the coming year will be our biggest year in our 10 year history and we thank each and every Reid customer for your support and we will continue to strive to offer the best bikes and service we can.
