Our guiding principles when making kid's bikes are safety, durability and fun. The Explorer S 16" is an easy to control BMX style bike, designed to build confidence as your child learns how to ride a proper bike.
This is a durable all-round bike made for use on footpaths, parks, riverside paths, off-road tracks and anywhere else kids like to ride in your neighbourhood. The Explorer S 16 is designed for years of tough love with an absolute minimum of maintenance required!
The ability of your child to control the bike will determine how quickly they build confidence and how much they enjoy the learning process. Reid designs kid's bikes so easy control by little riders - with child specific touchpoints and controls, plus a rear coaster brake for simple stopping power. We've even added a full-length chainguard for safety so little hands are protected from mess and moving parts like the KMC Rustbuster chain.
The Explorer S 16 includes training wheels, but these can be easily removed as your child develops their balance and advances their riding skills.

Home Delivery
Our bikes are shipped in a box 85% assembled and require basic assembly, like turning handlebars and inserting pedals. Check out our Assembly Videos that give instructions on how to do this.

Since January 2020 we have worked with not-for-profit reforestation partners to donate enough money to pay a local person a fair wage to grow, plant and guard to maturity 1 native tree for every bike we sell.
