Find your way to work each day and then get lost on the weekend - meet the Reid Granite 2.0 Gravel Bike.
Simply put, Gravel-grinders (All-Road, Adventure Road or Dirt-Road-Racers) are like a Cyclocross (CX) bike built for Endurance and all-terrain riding. The features that make these bikes perfect for dirty distance racing across varied terrain also make them perfect for commuting in all conditions. Born from advances in off-road racing bikes, the Granite gravel grinder bike range is just as comfortable on country back roads as they are tearing through the city.
Built around an alloy frame with durable parts chosen to keep the weight low, the Granite 2 features some nice upgrades including a carbon fork and improved groupset. With endurance geometry and extras like front and rear rack mounts - you can set this gravel grinder bike up for commuting, touring or off-road racing. The custom carbon fork not only reduces weight, it provides flex when cornering and effectively soaks up small bumps and road buzz for a more comfortable ride.
This bike sees an upgraded Shimano Claris compact crankset and drivetrain for wide-ranging and reliable operation in all conditions.
The Granite 2.0 is fitted with TRP Spyre mechanical disc brakes. These highly rated brakes offer the clearance and simplicity of cable disc, but with dual pistons for improved modulation, lever feel and balanced pad wear. All very important characteristics when things get muddy.
Fitted with 37C WTB Riddler tyres on double-wall Alex MD17 alloy rims, quick release hubs and a comfortable All-Road saddle - this gravel bike offers some nice features that give you plenty of ride options.
- Lightweight 6061 hydroformed alloy frame and custom carbon fork with rack and mudguard mounts, plus extra clearance for up to 40C wide tyres.
- The latest Shimano Claris FC-2450 50/34T compact crankset with an 11-32t cassette will keep things spinning no matter which way the road takes you.
- TRP Spyre C mechanical disc brakes which feature a dual piston design for outstanding performance and even disc wear in gritty conditions.
- Built to keep going – the Granite runs on Alex MD17 rims fitted with WTB Riddler 700 x 37mm tyres.
- Durable and lightweight - 11.66 kg
FAQ - Gravel & Cyclocross
WHAT IS A GRAVEL GRINDER?
Think of it as similar to a CX bike built for Endurance riding that is also perfect for all-conditions commuting over distance.
Gravel bikes typically run a 32-35mm wide tyre (as opposed to your standard Road bike at 23-25mm). Depending on the intended purpose of the bike, these tyres can often feature a small tread for traction in the dirt. These larger tyres help protect the rim against damage, reduces punctures, improves comfort in the saddle and they’ll also leave you less fatigued after riding along bumpy surfaces all day.
Gravel creates more rolling resistance so these bikes get a little more emphasis at the lower end of the range. Durability of moving parts is also key for Gravel bikes given the rough conditions they are made to ride in - our gearing choices reflect this consideration.
Both Gravel and CX bikes have strong frames and forks that are built tough for harsh treatment. The bikes feature clearance for the bigger tyres and any mud, and plenty of front/rear rack mounts for bikepacking, touring and fully loaded commuting.
Although similar to Cyclocross bikes, Gravel-grinders feature more relaxed geometry with a slacker head tube angle, a lower centre of gravity and longer tube lengths for a more comfortable ride over longer distances. Cyclocross bikes are designed to accelerate fast and corner quickly at lower speeds, but this can feel a bit ‘twitchy’ on endurance rides along wide-open gravel roads or long regular commutes.
Most quality gravel bikes feature disc brakes as they perform better in all conditions. If you’ve ever ridden to work in the wet, you’ll understand how this reliable power and control translates to a safer commute.

Buy One, Plant One
Since January 2020 we have partnered with Eden Reforestation Projects to donate enough money to pay a local person a fair wage to grow, plant and guard to maturity 1 native tree for every bike we sell.
We've now planted more than 200,000 trees and counting.

Bike is not bad for the price paid, but has some issues I was not that happy about. Sizing chart is wrong for me, I am 186cm so I got an XL as recommended by the chart, which would probably be fine if the stem wasn't so long (around 150mm) and the seat post was actually the 15mm set back 2 bolt version listed on the spec sheet, instead there is a single bolt post with at least 25-30mm set back, fortunately I had a spare shorter stem and a seatpost to be able to swap out and get a better fit . Also the disc brakes needed to be adjusted to even get the front wheel on. All that aside this is a robust frame that will work perfectly setup permanently on my Jet Black Volt for the rest of its life.Value for moneyRated 5.0 on a scale of 1 to 5Component qualityRated 3.0 on a scale of 1 to 5

Very happy with this purchase. First time to use a gravel bike after long-time riding MTB and hybrids. This bike is fast and responsive. Smooth ride and good quality components, as well as nice paint-job. Lightweight and agile, but also tough and durable for mixed-terrain and urban areas.
