- Lock your bike in a well lit area near other bikes. It also helps to make sure your bike is visible to lots of people.
- Ensure your bike cannot be lifted over the object it is locked to. Proper council bike racks fixed into the concrete at both ends are best.
- Create a snug fit between the bike frame and the object it is locked to. The less space available for lever attacks - the better.
- Make it as difficult as possible to access the locking mechanism.
